Dr. Zechmann grew up in Olympia, where his father was one of the founding members of Olympia Orthopaedics.   In 1993, having finished his training, Dr. Zechmann returned to Olympia to step into his father's practice when "dad" retired.

Dr. Zechmann had excellent training starting in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated with the highest honors of Magnum Cum Laude from Creighton University.  He received his medical degree from University of Kansas School of Medicine, graduating with honors and also being elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society which is reserved for the top 10 percent of the medical school class.  Dr. Zechmann's residency program was at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.  This is an excellent program, well-rounded with expert training in all facets of orthopaedic surgery.  He was selected from over 300 applicants to be admitted to this highly sought after orthopaedic residency program.

Dr. Zechmann is board certified in orthopaedic surgery since 1995.  He was recently re-certified in 2004. He keeps updated through study and by attending continuing education meetings.

Dr. Zechmann provides expert care in sports injuries, shoulder injuries and total joint replacements, including hips, knees, shoulders, and ankles.  He has extensive experience in trauma and fracture care.  He continues to provide the latest treatment in minimally invasive hip replacements, hip resurfacing, and knee replacements. His office has the latest and finest equipment.

Dr. Zechmann has developed an excellent reputation over the last 14 years here in Olympia.  His patients have found that he has an exceptional bedside manner, showing a truly caring professional personality that seems to endear him to the young and old alike.

Dr. Zechmann has recently added Kirk Jarman as his physician assistant to assist him in the care of his patients.  Kirk has excellent experience in orthopaedic care. His help has allowed Dr. Zechmann to increase his availability to his patients and has allowed Dr. Zechmann to see new patients in a timely manner.
